We've talked about this on #github, but one of the main reasons that I want to see the "disable replies" feature implemented is to push back on the sentiment in your toot.

I *really like* random people offering me advice/criticism. I very strongly hope that the Twitter-style stigma against replyguys/"randos in my mentions" doesn't catch on here. I think the best way to do this is to be able to disable replies—a feature I doubt I'll ever use
