      @alpacaherder I keep running into this argument. Even if cellphones had enabled FM radios, they'd be useless in those situations. Under use, they'd be discharged in a few hours, well before broadcasters had any useful information to convey.

      I wish someone with some sense would counter the NAB's lobbying effort. People would be far better served with portable AM-FM radios (with spare 9V batteries) in their emergency kits. Local agencies could even give them out as part of community preparation.
