#Adobe #Flash will die in 2020. About time. Good riddance to bad rubbish

If #Mozilla wants to regain some momentum, they should completely shut down #Adobe #Flash in 2018Q1. They can then brag loudly about being first to protect users from a dangerously insecure and resource-crazy plugin.

I say again, I will dance on the grave of #Flash.

@arunisaac why do those who do self-host use packages that create appallingly bloated sites using stuff like #Flash and loads of surplus JS?

The #FBI used #Flash and a broad #warrant to de-anonymize any visitors to a child porn #TOR service honeypot:
https://social.mikegerwitz.com/url/1072
"An FBI complaint described the site as 'the largest remaining known child pornography hidden service in the world.'"
It's great to know that our government is responsible for one of the largest child pornography dumps in the world.
Child pornography is a terrible thing, but this is a dangerous precedent, and is a very slippery slope. What else will the government decide is worth actively exploiting users' computers?
You should never install flash because it is #proprietary software. And I always recommend disabling #javascript. But to protect against this sort of attack, I recommend #Whonix.

I was liking the idea of #Scratch once I found out that it was #freesoftware. And then I saw that version 2 was written in #ActionScript, and required #Flash. Doesn't matter if it's Free at that point. So much for that.
#Snap looks promising, though.
